About Us

The Global TaxFin Advisory Group is a network of independent senior professionals with diverse industry and functional backgrounds from top tier firms that provide advisory services in international tax and corporate finance.

Jake Feldman, Founder and CEO/Managing Director, has over 25 years international tax, treasury and corporate finance experience in both the corporate and public accounting sectors. Over the course of his career, Jake has generated hundreds of millions of dollars in financial benefits. He has led large-scale international multi-disciplinary task force teams, and has conducted projects and traveled extensively to over 50 countries throughout Asia, Australia/New Zealand, Europe, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.

Experience
Jake served as Executive Director of Transfer Pricing at Grant Thornton LLP, where he was practice leader and subject matter consultant for the Northeast region, delivering transfer pricing and international tax services to clients in a wide range of industries.

Previously, he was Senior Director of International Tax Planning at Merck & Co., Inc. and Senior Director of Global Entity Management, where he headed the company’s global transfer pricing function. Jake led Merck’s development and implementation of both its Asia Pacific and Latin America supply chain hub structures. He has also advised, valued and negotiated acquisitions, divestitures, licensing, joint ventures and marketing arrangements.

Jake taught several years at New York University Stern School of Business as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Finance and is currently an Adjunct Instructor at New York University School of Professional Studies and an Adjunct Associate Professor at Pace University teaching graduate finance. He has been a speaker at national conferences sponsored by Gerson Lehrman Group, Tax Executives Institute, the Economist, Executive Enterprise Institute, Knowledge Congress, Baker & McKenzie and other forums on a variety of topics, including financial reporting, transfer pricing, restructuring activities and hedging strategies. Jake has served on the Editorial Advisory Board of World Trade Executive and the Economist Intelligence Unit, covering business and finance in emerging markets.

  • Defended global multi-billion dollar logistics client in transfer pricing controversy with IRS that not only avoided tax adjustments but resulted in a multi-million dollar future tax reduction.
  • Defended international satellite systems client in IRS audit of its intangibles migration, research sharing, manufacturing and distribution arrangements that resulted in no tax adjustments.
  • Generated multi-hundred million dollar tax benefit through the financial analysis, development and documentation of an innovative large-scale transfer pricing study for inbound sales to the US.
  • Realized nine-digit tax savings and reduced inventories through leading separate teams of 30 individuals, including legal and tax advisors, to implement tax-effective hub supply chain structures in Asia and Latin America. Overcame complex regulatory challenges related to tax rulings, contract manufacturing, VAT, customs and regulatory ministry rules.
  • Mitigated nine-digit customs and tax exposure by design of an alternative supply chain.
  • Generated nine-digit tax benefit by altering the flow of intercompany trademark and know-how royalties.
  • Improved profitability in the emerging markets of Asia, Latin America, Middle East and Africa through the restructuring or establishment of subsidiary operations, including negotiation of joint venture, divestiture, licensing and supply arrangements.
